Banana Bread

This recipe was posted to Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food Blog by Dawn Perry back in 2009. The image of her mother’s recipe was pulled directly from the post. I just now noticed that it came from “Recipes for Healthier Children” which I am assuming is a cook book. A browse on Amazon turned up this book published in 1977. I wish there was an image of the book or a review but I may just take a chance and order it hoping it is a great hippie cookbook, my favorite.

I changed this recipe slightly to make it even healthier. I used fine whole wheat flour and reduced the amount of sugar to 1/2 cup. It was still very sweet and I may even use 1/4 cup next time. The finished product was so moist and delicious that it only lasted one day.
